Hello! I’m Bonnie!

Certified Professional Dog Trainer/Owner of Dog Gone Good

I have loved dogs all my life, but it wasn’t until I was in the sixth grade that I was allowed to have a dog.  So I understand that long wait of dreaming about the perfect dog — and that things rarely start out quite how you imagined.

It was still years later that I stumbled into being a dog trainer.  My husband and I rescued a Rott/GSD mix.  Hogan was my husband’s dog, but it was I that took him to school.  It was important to us that Hogan learn the skills he needed to be the dog we wanted in our lives, so I signed up for class immediately after bringing him home.

It was while training Hogan that I was approached by a local trainer about an apprenticeship.  I spent many months and long hours learning everything I could about training dogs.  In 2006, I began teaching puppy classes, basic obedience, rally and agility classes on nights and weekends.

When I retired from the 8-5 world, I had 7 years of experience teaching classes, but I still enrolled in National K-9 School for Dog Trainers.  I graduated in 2015 and started my own business. That means I have 16 years total experience working with dogs of all sizes and types — so whatever problem you’re facing, I’ve likely seen it and helped dogs and owners work through it before.

To ensure I am on top of the latest training techniques and modern standards, I joined the International Association of Canine Professionals.  I have been a professional member since 2012.

My husband and I are currently sharing our lives with 4 dogs: Trevor, a 10yo All American; Tuxedo, an 8yo All American; Shadow, a 5yo Pomeranian, and Bronson, a 5yo Doberman Pinscher.  We enjoy obedience, rally, agility, barn hunt, FastCat and scent work.
